The Company has on 20th July 2007 entered into a Brand Licence Agreement (“the Brand Licence Agreement”) with Fly Asian Xpress Sdn. Bhd. ("FAX").
Further to the announcement made on 30th August 2007, the Company is pleased to announce that it has given its consent to FAX to change its name to AirAsia X Sdn Bhd. The consent is subject to FAX agreeing to cease using the name in the following circumstances:
(i) If the Brand Licence Agreement is not renewed or is terminated for whatsoever reason; or
(ii) If FAX is involved in any other businesses that are not related to the scheduled airline business (in either event FAX shall within 90 days cease from using the name AirAsia X Sdn Bhd) Other than the two above conditions, other terms and conditions of the Brand Licence Agreement remain unchanged.
There is no consideration involved in granting the consent as it is given to FAX to enable AirAsia to enhance its branding by attaching the brand to a low cost long haul scheduled airline operations.
This announcement is dated 18th September, 2007.
